Gatcombe Horse Trials cancelled after 40 years
After four decades of hosting one of the UK’s most prestigious equestrian events, the Gatcombe Horse Trials have been cancelled for the first time in its history.
The decision to cancel the event was made due to ongoing concerns and restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Gatcombe Horse Trials, which have been held annually on the grounds of Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, have always been a highlight of the equestrian calendar. The event typically attracts top riders from around the world and thousands of spectators.
Organizers of the event expressed their disappointment at having to cancel, but emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of participants, staff, and attendees.
Despite this setback, organizers are hopeful that the Gatcombe Horse Trials will return in full force next year, and are already making plans for an exciting and successful event in 2022.
