O’Connor’s Estate Asks Trump Not to Use Her Music
The estate of singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor has issued a statement asking President Donald Trump to refrain from using her music at his campaign rallies.
O’Connor, best known for her hit song “Nothing Compares 2 U,” passed away in 2022, but her music continues to be popular and is often used at political events without permission.
The estate’s statement reads, “Sinead O’Connor’s music was always rooted in her deeply held beliefs and values. She would not want her art to be associated with any political figure or message that goes against her principles.”
The statement goes on to say that the estate is considering legal action if Trump continues to use O’Connor’s music without permission.
It is not the first time that musicians have asked Trump to stop using their music at his rallies. Over the years, artists such as The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, and Adele have all issued similar requests.
It remains to be seen whether Trump will comply with the estate’s request or continue to use O’Connor’s music in his campaign events.
